HIMACHAL, a word which needs no definition, explanation, or introduction. There are a few places quite remote, not connected well via roads or are way too far from the main roads
that they had remain hidden surprisingly from the the tourism map.

One such place, nestled in the lap of nature, is the serene and scenic SHANGHAR located in the eco-zone of UNESCO world heritage site GREAT HIMALAYAN NATIONAL PARK.

Nature View Home Stay is situated in the forested mountain range of the Great Himalayan National Park.

On the ground floor, apart from the reception, there is a comfortable lounge where you can sit and drink tea or just read.

How to get there –

By road – From New Delhi Shanghar is around 520 kms via Karnal-Ambala-Chandigarh-Bilaspur-Mandi-Larji-Sainj Bypass-Ropa road, one can either take a direct taxi from from Delhi to Shanghar
which will take around 11-12 hours minimum drive or by bus.

If coming from Shimla, Shanghar is around 200 kms via Ghaghas-Aut-Larji-Sainj bypass-Ropa road and around 260 via Narkanda-Luhri-Jalori Pass-Banjar-Larji-Sainj Bypass-Ropa.

By train – Nearest railway station from Shanghar is Joginder Nagar in Mandi. It is around 118 kms from Shanghar, one can either take a direct taxi from Joginder Nagar or the HRTC bus from bus
to Mandi/Aut and then to Shanghar/Sainj. From Sainj one can also get shared taxis to Shanghar.

By air – Arrive at Kullu(Bhuntar) Airport, It is around 49 kms from Shanghar. A taxi or a bus from Bhuntar will get you to Sainj or Shanghar.

Does Shanghar have snow?

Villages like Shanghar receive snow in January and February.

The meadows get buried under a thick layer of white and present a mesmerizing sight. The road to Sainj remains open throughout winter but the internal roads may get blocked if there was a lot of snow.
